The State Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia, Stanislav Raščan, was welcomed at the Magistral Palace by Stefano Ronca, Secretary General for Foreign Affairs of the Sovereign Order of Malta. Present at the meeting was the Minister Counsellor of the Order of Malta’s Embassy, Prof. Alberto Bochicchio.
During the meeting, a cooperation agreement was signed to enhance the Order’s social and humanitarian activities in Slovenia, particularly in the health and social field. The Order of Malta currently operates numerous programmes in the country through its National Association, its relief corps and its Embassy. These initiatives focus on providing first aid services (especially at pilgrimage sites), medical and social assistance, and essential resources such as water and electricity for Roma communities. Additionally, they include the distribution of sleeping bags and clothing to those in need, donations of medical equipment, and the provision of food and hygiene products.
The Grand Chancellor of the Sovereign Order of Malta, Albrecht Boeselager, attended the ceremony and expressed his satisfaction with the signing of the cooperation agreement.
